backstory
Kim Schutz is a designer focusing on nature, color and art as well as the nostalgia of family keepsakes and heirlooms. Each her design projects focuses around an important object or story belonging to her client. She places great value on the use of antiques, vintage and hand-crafted pieces. Growing up in the Great Plains’ prairie of Oklahoma, Kim was greatly influenced by her surroundings and the backgrounds of her parents: her mother’s agrarian roots and love of nature and the natural world, and her father’s wanderlust sparked by his childhood travels around the world to places like Africa and the Philippines. She studied art history side by side with business and then law. She has been designing and renovating homes for her own family and clients for nearly 20 years. She lives in Tulsa with her husband and their two sons.
Kimberly Schutz Interiors believes a client’s home should tell the story of its inhabitants, and in utilizing “new plus vintage, not just new.” They support local vendors and sustainability.
